BIO

“Well back in 2015 my parents bought me a second hand Canon 60d. I started taking pictures. And unknowingly it kind of became a purpose of life. Now I use both film and digital.

I have a Vivitar, an Agfa and a Nikon D610. Also I use my phone (mi4) a lot. I don’t have those prejudices like film is superior than digital and all. I use film just because I like to.

I like the notion of not seeing the picture until it’s printed or scanned (except the one in your head, that you can see all the time, even before you take the picture). I’m currently working on my new project where I photograph some villages where almost every man from the households are migrating to some other states leaving their wives and children behind, which has made the women way more independent and self-sufficient.” – Anindya Maitra
