1973 – Born Monday 2nd of April in Gent (Belgium).
As a kid I wasn’t much of a reader. I watched the pictures of my favorite Tin Tin comics over and over again.
Now I’m treating the books of my favorite photographers no differently … a good habit.
1993 – Finally got a school degree as a car mechanic, but realized soon after that “I don’t want to be a car mechanic”.
2000 – Started an evening photography class for 6 years at St-Lucas Academy in Gent.
The Academy was a 4-minute walk from my home.
2003 – At the age of 30 I declared ‘I want to be a photographer’.
2004 – In December I went traveling for the first time with only one thing in mind,
taking photographs of whatever crossed my path on a road trip through the USA.
2006 – In the Summer I traveled to photograph St-Petersburg and Moscow, followed by another road trip through the USA.
2007 – Went back to the USA again for two more road trips.
2008 – Spent 8 months traveling through Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia,
where I found the patience needed to take good pictures.
2009 – I had a sudden interest in snapping photographs of my friends, so whenever they saw me they were looking into a lens.
2011 – In December I traveled to Latin America with a hunger to photograph street life.
2012 – In January I had my first photography exhibition at Gallery 44 with fellow photographer
Wouter Van Vaerenbergh in Bruges, Belgium.
2013 – I realized that it will take a whole lifetime to be a good all-around photographer.
2014 – Exhibition, Con su Permiso, in Flanders Center Osaka, Japan. First time in Japan.
2015 – Exhibition USA, in Mint Galerie Gent, Belgium.
